Paul Plunkett

 Paul Plunkett is the Managing Partner of Acrisure’s New England region. Paul’s responsibilities include total revenue growth, regional integration of Acrisure Partners and operational excellence in concert with Business Services provided by Acrisure Corporate.

Paul brings thirty-five years of experience in the creation of organizational organic growth, agency operations and leadership. Paul also maintains a client base with large strategic clients in several business segments.

Prior to this role, Paul served in several leadership roles at Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group in Vermont, the latest as CEO and President. 
Paul obtained his bachelor’s degree from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, VT. Paul and his wife Gina reside in Burlington, VT. They have four grown children. Paul loves travel, community service, spending time with his family on beautiful Lake Champlain, skiing the mountains of Vermont and the western United States and he and his wife have newly entered into the sport of gravel biking.

David Siekman

David Siekman is the Head of Total Client Solutions for the New England Region. Dave worked at Aronson Insurance as COO overseeing Operations as well as the Personal Lines and High Net Worth Departments.

He began his career in 1999 at a regional carrier before coming to the agency side in 2005. Dave hs worked for agencies, clusters, and done consulting and training all focused on driving success for independent insurance agents.

Dave is a graduate of Merrimack College and lives in Massachusetts with his wife and three children.

Jim most recently serviced as the Executive Vice President at H. D. Segur, Inc. He has held the positions of Personal Lines Manager and Commercial Lines & Operations Manager. Jim started his insurance career at his brother’s small agency in 1988 and has also worked for Great American Insurance Co. and Covenant/Arbella Insurance.

Kate Emert

Kate Emert is a graduate from the State University of New York, Plattsburgh with a B.A. in English Literature. Kate has spent the last 10 years in Human Resources with Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group, an Acrisure Agency Partner in Vermont. Kate moved to Vermont in 2010 to take advantage of the Vermont outdoor lifestyle and now resides in Waterbury, Vermont with her husband and daughter.

Lori Slezek

Lori has been with Acrisure since January of 2021 but is no stranger to the insurance industry. Having been in lead operational and financial roles at several Massachusetts insurance agencies over the past 20 years, she brings a unique set of skills and knowledge to help Acrisure and the agency partner develop a cohesive team that will capture value and create growth. As the Head of Finance, she will oversee all the financial operations and drive financial strategies to support growth goals.

Lori lives in the Lakes Region in New Hampshire with her husband Brian. She and Brian enjoy spending time with their two daughters boating on the lake, snowmobiling in Maine or just hanging out. Lori has her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Westfield State University and an MBA from Western New England University.

Rich Hesselman

Acrisure welcomed Rich Hesselman in 2024 as the Head of Growth for the New England Platform. In his role, he is responsible for sales management and successful growth of Commercial Lines and Personal Lines for all Acrisure offices in New England.

After graduating from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a degree in Business Marketing, Rich embarked on a 32 year career with Chubb Insurance. His underwriting career started in the Energy Division in Cincinnati, and he was promoted to various positions in Pittsburgh and Chicago. In 2002, Rich spent over 3 years in Hong Kong running Chubb’s Commercial Insurance operation. He also served as Chubb’s Northeast Region Marketing Manager as well as the New Haven Branch Manager and most recently as Boston Branch Manager.

Rich is a native of Ohio and currently resides in Hingham, Massachusetts. He and his wife Rindy have two grown sons, Breck and Trent.

Thomas Rugg

Tom’s been employed at Hickok & Boardman HR Intelligence (H&B HRIQ) for nearly 22 years. He began his career as a Financial Manager assisting the firm’s self-funded clients and subsequently became a client lead and a lead sales professional. In 2007, Tom became a shareholder and partner at H&B HRIQ and currently holds the position of Managing Partner. During his tenure, Tom successfully acquired and managed clients ranging in size from three to 13,000 employees and is well known for his expertise on all medical insurance funding arrangements including fully insured, self-insured, and medical captive insurance. Tom has been frequently called upon to provide expert benefits related testimony to the Vermont State Legislature and has served on numerous advisory boards and committees on behalf of H&B HRIQ both regionally and nationally.
